Rainer is the principal of SHAPE Consulting. Rainer's 14-year career includes tenures with two Fortune 200 firms. During that time he was responsible for designing selection systems for one of the world's largest staffing firms. His experience also includes designing performance management systems, creating employee development programs, and assessing human potential. He has taught collegiate courses in Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, and Human Resource Management, and is currently an adjunct faculty member at Washington State University - Vancouver where he teaches courses in the Business Program and the Personnel Psychology and Human Resource Management program. He has also conducted employee selection and workforce reductions research. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology from Marquette University, and a Ph.D. degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Portland State University. David has over 8 years of experience in public relations, sales and marketing, and project management within the hi-tech industry and has spent the past 8 years developing human performance management systems. David is currently conducting personnel selection and assessment validation studies in addition to developing artificial intelligence applications for hiring management systems for numerous large national retail employers. He has also conducted research on personnel selection and job applicant perceptions as well as having taught college courses in Human Motivation, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, and Interviewing & Presentation Skills. David received his BS degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He also holds a Master’s degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Portland State University and is completing his Ph.D. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, focusing on artificial intelligence and data mining applications for hiring management systems.
